How to care for your MeggieMoo
Wash day in the MeggieMoo household!
If you have never had a fabric collar before then they need a little extra care as they are more delicate than leather, ribbon or webbing trimmed collars.
To get the most from your collar follow the washing instructions below.
When it gets muddy or dirty remove the tags.
Machine wash collars - can be washed inside a knotted pillowcase on a cool, gentle machine wash. Use detergent without whiteners and air dry.
Hand wash - cool gentle hand wash. Detergent without whiteners and air dry.
Wool wash - wool or no rinse detergent. Tepid water, air dry.
Velvet collars and leads - cool gentle machine wash inside a knotted pillowcase. To remove hair from velvet a damp cloth or thumb rubbed over will remove it.
Webbing and fleece leads - cool machine wash inside a knotted pillowcase. Air dry.
Please check your collar or lead every day for signs of damage or wear.
We strengthen the fabric but it does wear - I liken it to you wearing your favourite socks every day - this does not affect the strength of the collar.
If the hardware can be reused we love recycling so save it up and we'll offer you a small discount on a new collar. We will also take it back to make the collars we donate to rescue dogs.
Please note, we will not use hardware from other collar makers unless we have tested it. We are also unable to use a 3 bar slide on the back section of martingales as they can cause injury (more info here).
